The Hendon Horticultural Society & Gardening Club is a friendly local group, holding monthly meetings on second Wednesdays, (not Jul/Aug). We meet at Christ Church Hall, 7pm, corner of Brent Street/Heriot Road, Hendon NW4.

We have a full progamme of speakers and events. (Available on request).

New members & visitors always welcome. (Visitors pay £2 - refundable on becomong a member)

At present we hold an Annual Flower Show in July, one or two coach outings per year and a Christmas Lunch in December.

Last summer we visited the famous Hopley’s Plants Nursery in Much Hadham, Herts.

The first coach trip this year will be on Saturday May 12th to Wrest Park, Silsoe, Luton, Beds. which is an English Heritage mansion with extensive gardens. The mansion was built in 1834 and was the home of the De Grey family.

This years Summer Flower Show will be held at the Hendon Baptist Church - First Ave & Finchley Lane London NW4 at 2pm on Saturday June 23rd.

The members' Christmas Lunch will be held at the “Claddagh Ring” pub at 1pm on Saturday December 1st.

The AGM will be held on Saturday January 14th 2013

Wed. April 11th - Talk & demo by Philip Coleman of “Finchley Nurseries,” with plant sales.
Wed. May 9th - Slide Talk by Richard Thomas Highland on the Canals of Scotland
Wed. June 13th – Illustrated talk by Ian Mackay of the Woodland Trust
Wed. September 11th – Talk by Monica Greenwood on Bees & Bee Keeping with honey product sales
Wed. October 10th – Talk by Head Gardener, Westminster Abbey Gdns.
Sat. November 17th - Afternoon 2-4 pm - Talk by Alan Gillingwater on Growing Sweet Peas

Hendon Horticultural Society was formed in 1902 from the "All Souls Allottees Society" whose members were allotment holders in Brampton Grove NW4. The centenary was celebrated in 2002 with a tree planting by the Mayor in Hendon Park.
